Christie's upcoming auction of 107 watches, some rare, is from a single-owner collection

Christie's is all set to offer the Ultimate Collection of a single collector that includes rare timepieces from Patek Philippe, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Breguet, F.P Journe, and more, at the live auction to be held on 26th May.
Christie’s live auction, the Ultimate Collection, set to take place in Hong Kong on 26th May, is bringing 107 timepieces from a single owner to the auction block. The collection includes rare and exclusive timepieces from some of the most sought-after brands including sports models from Patek Philippe, ‘Breguet numerals' Ref. 5270G-024, Rolex Daytonas, A. Lange & Söhne 'Lange 1' masterpieces, and specially commissioned pieces by F.P. Journe, among others.

The collection’s parameters for its exclusivity not only include rarity and significance in the watch world, but also the pristine condition of the timepieces. These include two exclusive, unique, and commissioned timepieces from F.P. Journe, Chronomètre à Résonance and second-generation Tourbillon Souverain, 'Reference TN'.

Chronomètre à Résonance

The Chronomètre à Résonance that will be offered for bids has an ice blue mother-of-pearl dial and is the ‘RT’ or ‘Résonance Trois’ edition that was made only for one year in 2019 as the 20th-anniversary celebration of the model. The watch is the platinum version with a 40mm case, and is estimated to be sold between HK$5,000,000 and HK$10,000,000.

Tourbillon Souverain

The other is the second-generation Tourbillon Souverain, 'Reference TN' for 'Tourbillon Nouveau', created in 2019 as a limited edition of just 20 pieces. The watch has an opulent ruby dial created by adjoining two crescent pieces having curves of varying radii, to meet the design of the Tourbillon Souverain where the counter and tourbillion apertures lie at the centre of the dial. The watch is estimated to be sold between HK$3,200,000 and HK$6,400,000.
