Hublot has unveiled a new pocket watch, called the Arsham Droplet, created in collaboration with New York-based contemporary artist and brand ambassador Daniel Arsham. The 99-piece limited-edition timepiece takes the shape of a rounded droplet, inspired by the fluids found in nature. It combines the idea of vintage pocket watch with modern materials and futuristic design. The watch measures 73.2mm in length, 52.6mm in width, and has a thickness of 22.5mm, and features a sandwich construction. It is crafted with titanium, rubber, and domed sapphire crystal in teardrop shape. The shiny micro blasted titanium is combined with Arsham Green coloured rubber bumpers stamped with the artist’s monogram. The case is firmly sealed with 17 O rings using the double sealing system. It is water resistant up to 30 metres. Hublot’s six H screws also get a significant place in the design of the Arsham Droplet.
The dial is semi-matte varnished and also features the Arsham green shade. The index at 12 o’clock is replaced by the Arsham logo. The hands also follow the theme colour. The power reserve indicator can also be seen at the 6’clock position. On the flip side, the caseback is also made from micro blasted M3 titanium and features the artist’s logo.
Powering the piece is Hublot’s manual-wound Meca-10 manufacture movement, beating at 3 Hz frequency and offering a reserve of about 10 days or 240 hours.
The timepiece comes with two titanium chains designed with the brand’s patented double
"one-click" system which allows easy attachment and detachment for the piece to be used as a necklace, a pocket watch, or a table clock.
