Watches and Wonders 2025: At Jaeger-LeCoultre, art and innovation takes centrestage in the Reverso

Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to demonstrate why the Reverso remains one of the most iconic timepieces in horological history with its new launches at Watches and Wonders 2025.
Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to redefine the boundaries of haute horlogerie with extraordinary new Reverso timepieces that showcase the manufacture's unparalleled mastery of artistic crafts and mechanical innovation. Each model tells a unique story, demonstrating why the Reverso remains one of the most celebrated watches in contemporary horology.

Reverso Classic Monoface 'Origin': A Tribute to Feminine Elegance
The Reverso Classic Monoface 'Origin' is a delicate reimagining of the earliest women's Reverso timepieces from the 1930s. As Jaeger-LeCoultre continuously expands the stylistic universe of the Reverso, this new feminine model highlights original Art Deco design. With its precisely proportioned 32.5mm x 16.3mm steel case - a new case size in the current Reverso collection - this model shares the same dimensions as the Reverso Dame from 1931. The polished steel case houses a dial that exudes timeless elegance, featuring a central guilloché sunray pattern that appears to extend seamlessly into the markings on the chemin de fer minutes track. The watch is powered by a quartz movement.

The dial's design is a study in subtle sophistication. On the outer part, the subtle texture of vertical brushing forms the backdrop to transferred Arabic numerals. Collectors can choose between a flexible five-row steel bracelet or a sophisticated blue alligator strap, ensuring versatility for different styles and occasions.

True to the Reverso's original concept, the blank metal caseback remains an invitation for personal expression. Owners can personalize this canvas with engravings or lacquer, transforming the timepiece into a personal statement.

Reverso Classic Monoface Small Seconds: Contemporary Refinement
The Reverso Classic Monoface Small Seconds represents a contemporary interpretation of the classic design. Introduced in 2024 and refined for 2025, the watch maintains the Reverso's iconic proportions with its 40.1mm x 24.4mm case, and a slim 7.56mm profile, striking a perfect balance between vintage appeal and modern wearability. The mid-sized steel case, comprising 50 components, sits comfortably on masculine and feminine wrists alike.

The standout feature is the innovative new "coin stack" guilloché pattern adorning the dial's center and small seconds display. This textural element, reminiscent of stacked coin edges, creates a captivating visual contrast with the vertical brushing of the hours and seconds tracks. Bold Arabic numerals add a contemporary edge to the design, embodying the Reverso's ability to seamlessly traverse different aesthetic territories. Powered by the manually wound Calibre 822 with a 42-hour power reserve, the watch is complemented by an interchangeable black calfskin strap designed by the renowned Argentinian polo bootmaker Casa Fagliano—a nod to the Reverso's sporting origins. The Calibre 822 is composed of 108 components. The blank metal caseback of the Reverso Monoface can be pesonalised..

Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179: A Masterpiece of Haute Horlogerie
The pinnacle of Jaeger-LeCoultre's 2025 Reverso collection is the Hybris Artistica Calibre 179, a limited edition of just 10 pieces crafted in 18k white gold.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179

At the heart of this exceptional watch is the fourth evolution of the Gyrotourbillon, a multi-axis tourbillon that represents a remarkable engineering achievement. The watch is powered by the manually-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 179. This features the fourth evolution of the Gyrotourbillon, the Manufacture’s signature multi-axis tourbillon (historical patent CH694598A5) – a technical tour-de-force developed specifically for the Reverso.
The Gyrotourbillon has a complex structure with 123 components, it comprises one ultra-light titanium cage and a peripheral carriage mounted on ball-bearings; these two elements turn perpendicularly to each other at different speeds.  The inner tourbillon cage rotates 360 degrees every 16 seconds and the peripheral carriage makes a full rotation once per minute; this peripheral carriage also provides a small seconds function, indicating the seconds on a ring that encircles the tourbillon aperture.  A closer look reveals a greyed semi-spherical balance spring beating at the heart of the mechanism, as well as the distinctive double-anchor shape of a Gyrolab balance ‘wheel’ – both elements paying testament to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s tireless pursuit of greater precision and mechanical efficiency.  Calibre 179 is a Duoface movement (historical patent EP0633514), displaying a different time zone on each dial as well as a 24-hour indicator for the second time zone on the reverse dial.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 - Gyrotourbillon

The watch's aesthetic is equally impressive. Shiny dark blue lacquer creates a rich contrast with the solid white gold case, while intricate decorative techniques showcase Jaeger-LeCoultre's unparalleled craftsmanship. The light reflected from the mirror-like surface of the blue lacquer disc also helps amplify the effect of the flying Gyrotourbillon - as if floating in space between the two dials.

With its double-sided, Duoface movement, this Reverso offers two distinct personalities. The front dial features a lattice of fine lines matching the precious metal's tone in silver, while the reverse side displays a skeletonized hours-minutes ring decorated with hand-applied blue lacquer.

Despite its complexity—382 components in total—the watch has an overall thickness of just 13.63mm. The adjustable folding buckle, comprising 46 meticulously assembled components, further demonstrates the manufacture's commitment to both technical innovation and refined elegance.

Reverso One 'Precious Colours': A Geometric Art Deco Masterpiece
The Reverso One 'Precious Colours' represents a tour de force of decorative craftsmanship. Crafted in 18k white gold, this limited edition of 10 pieces has a caseback that features an intricate geometric pattern that pays homage to the Art Deco movement, with a scintillating design that seamlessly wraps around the case sides and dial.
The creation of this timepiece involves an incredibly complex enamelling technique that requires up to 15 firings and 60 hours of work. Artisans first precisely draw gem-setting areas and hollow out spaces for enamel, then apply multiple layers of white and coloured enamel. The result is a mesmerizing surface with six different enamel colours, including soft pastel shades of grey, mauve, and pink, complemented by contrasting highlights in dark purple, white, and yellow. The watch is adorned with 277 diamonds totaling 1.59 carats, set using a delicate grain-setting technique. Tiny white gold claws are raised to hold each stone, a process that requires 40 hours of work.

When viewed from different angles, the watch offers two distinct personas. The dial facing outwards has a soft white mother-of-pearl dial, complemented by transferred numerals and Dauphine hands. When flipped, it transforms into a high jewellery masterpiece showcasing intricate enamel and diamond work.

It is powered by the hand-wound Calibre 846, developed specifically for the Reverso and shaped to follow the rectangular case. A reverse-set diamond on the winding crown and a white alligator strap complete this exceptional piece.

Reverso One 'Precious Flowers': Botanical Elegance in Enamel
The Reverso One 'Precious Flowers' collection introduces two models that celebrate the beauty of nature: Green Arums and Purple Arums. Crafted within the Métiers Rares™ atelier in the Vallée de Joux, these watches are the result of an intricate craftsmanship process. In 18k pink gold, each piece is limited to 10 pieces.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso One 'Precious Flowers'

The Green Arums model features delicate enamelling, along with  409 diamonds, totaling 2.59 carats, which are meticulously set using both snow and grain-setting techniques. Black lacquer is delicately applied between the flowers and leaves, with fragments cut to exact shapes and carefully fixed in place, adding depth and contrast to the vibrant green composition.

The Purple Arums interpretation takes complexity to new heights. Thirty hours of grand feu enamelling create a stunning palette of purple, pink, and green that seamlessly wraps around the case sides, challenging artisans to maintain precision across curves and angles. A total of 637 diamonds (2.12 carats) are snow- and grain-set across the entire motif, requiring an impressive 95 hours of painstaking work. The result is a timepiece that seems to bloom with life, capturing the essence of a delicate floral arrangement.

Both watches are powered by the hand-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 846. The watches feature mother-of-pearl dials with delicate diamond-highlighted brackets, and are complemented by shiny alligator straps that echo the enamel's colours.

Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds: Versatility Reimagined
The Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds arrives in two variations - a classic black and a vibrant blue - an homage to the earliest coloured dials of the 1930s, cased in steel to echo the original Reverso's design philosophy of form and function.

Each watch is powered by the hand-wound Calibre 854. The front dial displays hours, minutes, and a small seconds register, while the reverse side offers a second timezone with an innovative 24-hour indicator. An almost invisible slider on the case-band allows independent adjustment of the second timezone, maintaining the watch's perfectly sleek aesthetic.

The blue dial has been created through an extraordinarily complex lacquering process that involves applying 24 carefully hand-applied layers of coloured and transparent lacquer. The dial's sunray-brushed surface creates a play of silver tones that changes with every movement of the wearer's wrist.

Designed with a nod to the watch's sporting heritage, the timepieces come with interchangeable straps crafted by Casa Fagliano. One strap combines leather and canvas - inspired by the summer polo boots the artisan is famous for - while the other is crafted entirely of supple calf leather.

Reverso Tribute Enamel 'Shahnameh': A Literary and Artistic Odyssey
Perhaps the most culturally rich release from Jaeger-LeCoultre at Watches and Wonders 2025 is the Reverso Tribute Enamel 'Shahnameh' series. Four unique timepieces celebrate the Persian epic poem through miniature enamel paintings on the caseback, each limited to 10 pieces and crafted in 18k white gold. The four paintings - Siyavush Plays Polo Before Afrasiyab, Faridun Tests His Sons, Saam Comes to Mount Alburz, and Rustam Pursues Akvan - are miniaturized reproductions of 16th-century illustrations from the magnificent Shah Tahmasp edition of the Shahnameh

Originally measuring 48cm x 32cm, these intricate artworks have been painstakingly reduced to a mere 2 cm² surface, capturing the dreamlike quality and rich details of the original Persian miniatures. Each caseback requires 100 hours of work, combining miniature enamel painting with the ancient technique of paillonnage, using delicate 24k gold leaf fragments to achieve a lustrous, traditional effect.

The front dials feature grand feu enamel over intricate guilloché patterns created on a century-old hand-operated lathe. Each dial is uniquely coloured to complement its corresponding painting - vibrant blue for the polo scene, light blue for the dragon test, various shades of green for the mountain and pursuit scenes. Each guilloché pattern meticulously crafted over 7 hours and then carefully enamelled.

Powered by the manually-wound Calibre 822 with a 42-hour power reserve, these watches are more than timepieces - they are a profound tribute to Persian art, literature, and the Reverso's polo-inspired origins.

The series connects multiple historical and cultural threads: the sport of polo, which originated in ancient Persia over 2,000 years ago; the epic Shahnameh, written between 977 and 1010; and the artistic traditions of miniature painting that flourished in Persia from the 13th century onwards.

Reverso Tribute Geographic: A World of Time on the Wrist
The Reverso Tribute Geographic reimagines the world time complication. Available in two variants – a steel model and a limited edition in 18k pink gold – this timepiece transforms the art of travel timekeeping. Rooted in the brand's nine-decade legacy of innovation, the watch pays homage to the Reverso's original 1931 design, which was first created to protect watches during polo matches in British India. The innovative Calibre 834 movement introduces a unique approach to world time display, featuring a static city disc and a rotating 24-hour ring that offers unprecedented legibility.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Geographic

The watch's dual-sided design tells a complete story of technical sophistication. The front dial features a sunray finish in either rich blue (steel) or chocolate brown (pink gold), complemented by a large date display framed in polished metal. A remarkable engineering achievement lies in the date mechanism itself, where Jaeger-LeCoultre developed a patented system using two side-by-side discs that create a visually harmonious double-digit display. The reverse side reveals a meticulously crafted world map, created through an intricate process of laser engraving and hand-applied lacquer. Each map is a miniature work of art, with ocean areas filled in by hand using a syringe to ensure perfect precision. The three-level construction of the display creates a stunning visual depth, with city names engraved directly onto the caseback and a central world map marked with longitudes.

The Minute Repeater represents the pinnacle of Jaeger-LeCoultre's acoustic and mechanical expertise, a testament to the brand's rich horological legacy that stretches back to 1870. Limited to just 30 pieces, this pink gold masterpiece is powered by the newly developed Calibre 953, incorporating seven existing patents that elevate the art of chiming watches.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater

The watch's design is a study in contrasts. The front dial features a hand-guilloché barley-seed pattern covered in teal blue grand feu enamel, a process that takes 12 hours of craftsmanship. Each dial requires four hours of intricate guillochage followed by eight hours of precise enamelling, creating an optical illusion of movement that captures light in mesmerizing ways. The reverse side offers an open-worked view of the mechanism, with faceted indexes that appear to float above the intricate movement, revealing the complex inner workings of this horological marvel.

Hand-bevelled bridges and a blue-lacquered bridge spanning the movement add depth and visual interest while showcasing the 180 skills gathered under one roof at Jaeger-LeCoultre's fully integrated Manufacture. The slider activating the chimes has been redesigned to be as discreet as possible

A black alligator strap and an innovative pink gold buckle with a micro-adjustment mechanism to the nearest 0.5mm complete this exceptional timepiece. With a 48-hour power reserve and a case crafted from 18k pink gold measuring 51.1mm x 31mm.

Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds: Vintage Glamour Reimagined
The Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds celebrates the collection's aesthetic versatility. Crafted in 18k pink gold, this Monoface Small Seconds introduces a stunning Milanese link bracelet that connects the watch's heritage to contemporary design. The bracelet alone is a marvel of craftsmanship, requiring 16 meters of pink gold threads and a meticulous hand-soldering process that creates a fabric-like metal structure known as pezza, a technique with roots tracing back to 13th-century Milan.

The golden-grained dial provides a delicate textural counterpoint to the polished case and bracelet, with its subtle finish achieved through multiple precision stamping operations. Applied indexes and Dauphine hands recall the original 1931 Reverso design, while the small seconds display at six o'clock adds a touch of classical watchmaking elegance.

The Reverso Tribute Nonantieme 'Enamel' is crafted in 18k pink gold and limited to just 90 pieces. The watch captivates with its elegant grey sunray-brushed dial, featuring a sophisticated Grande Date display at 12 o'clock framed in pink gold and a mesmerizing moonphase complication nestled within the small seconds counter. However, when flipped, the watch unveils two overlapping circular apertures arranged in a figure-eight, surrounded by intricate gadroons that echo the case's architectural lines.

The meticulously engineered Calibre 826 beats inside, and powers the semi-jumping digital hour display and a minutes disc partially concealed by a three-quarter plate lacquered in a rich blue. Tiny pink gold stars are delicately transferred onto the surface, creating a night sky that serves as a backdrop to a polished sun and moon indicating day and night. The surrounding case is transformed into a celestial landscape, with multiple layers of deep blue enamel sprinkled with stars and latitude and longitude lines laser-engraved to reveal the underlying pink gold.
