One of the brand’s very first collections, the Flagship line has been significant in Longines’s lineup since the late 1950s. Named after the leading ship of a navy’s Commander-in-Chief, the collection carries its emblem on the closed caseback - a caravel on a gold medallion. Now, the brand has released three new models that take the domed dials from the original 1957 watch, and are equipped with moonphase complications.
The three new 38.50mm stainless steel Flagship Heritage pieces are – sunray silver dial with grey strap (Ref. L4.815.4.72.2), silver dial with brown strap (Ref. L4.815.4.78.2), and blue sunray dial with blue strap (Ref. L4.815.4.92.2). The three new iterations are re-interpreted with satin brushed finishes and condensed chamfered lugs (19mm) for ergonomics. The dials of the timepieces feature a subdial at 6 o’clock with moonphase and a date indicator hand in the moon’s colour. The silvered polished or gilt hands and hour markers are applied with
Super-LumiNova®. However, the hour markers are elongated at 3, 6, and 12 o’clock.
The self-winding mechanical movement Calibre L899.5 powering the watch, beating at 25,200 vibrations per hour, with a monocrystalline silicon balance-spring, and boasting about 72 hours of power reserve. The novelties are water resistant to 30 metres and have an alligator strap with new Heritage pin buckle strap.
